The fires that are sweeping across the Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties are home to some of the most sought-after cannabis strains in the country. A single plant could be worth up to $5K but cannabis farmers are unable to secure crop insurance due to the plant’s schedule-one drug status and federal illegality. Although it is tough to assess the actual damage the Nor-Cal wildfires could have on the cannabis market, consumers will be affected by it one way or another.
