(FreshAsFrankie) Cardi B, one of hip-hop’s most outspoken artist, says she’s tired of people criticizing how she spends her cash.
The Bronx native’s smash song “Bodak Yellow” steadily climbed the charts, reaching No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She became the first solo female rapper to hit No.1 since Lauryn Hill released her single “Doo Wop” in 1998. So it should come as no surprise that Cardi likes to enjoy the rewards of her hard work.
However, Cardi B took to Instagram on Wednesday explaining that she doesn’t post every time she helps someone because if she did- the gesture would become less “genuine.”
“I hate my public figures spend money like on jewelry, on [cars], on something real flashy. People be like ‘you could be helping people out with that. You could be doing better deeds. You should be investing that money”.
Cardi continued, “How do you know that they not helping other people out. It wouldn’t be genuine if they post every time, they help somebody out.”
“How tacky and nasty would it look every time I break off my moms, break off my dad, break off my grandmama and I show it on the gram like ‘hey look’ that’s not genuine. That’s not being real. That’s not really helping somebody cause of the heart.” Cardi said.
