(FreshAsFrankie) DMX embarked upon his journey to get clean and sober last month by entering a rehab facility. He’s responded to treatment extremely well.
TMZ reports that the 46-year old multi-platinum selling rapper, born Earl Simmons, has gained 40 pounds after entering the program with a physique that was nothing but skin and bones.
X has been allowed to take day trips with a friend to a town nearby.
The program is nearly completed, but his lawyer, Richard Murray, says things are going so well he wants his client to stay in an extra 30 days to continue treatment.
As we previously reported, DMX was ordered to enter the facility after violating the terms of his house arrest by testing positive 4 times for weed and cocaine, while out on bond in his tax evasion case.
X also left New York City to take care of some family matters in St. Louis, without getting court permission first.
The “Party Up (Up in Here)” hitmaker is currently facing 14 counts of evading more than $1 million in federal taxes. If convicted he could be sentenced to 44 years in federal prison.
