'Girls Trip' Crosses The $100 Million Mark At The Box Office

(FreshAsFrankie) The Malcolm D. Lee-directed comedy Girls Trip hit a big milestone at the domestic box office. According to Deadline, the movie crossed the $100 million mark.

Girls Trip is led by the cast of Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, and Tiffany Haddish. The film follows the four women as they travel to New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival.

This is the third time producer Will Packer is attached to a movie that grossed over $100 million domestically. The Florida native also produced Ride Along ($134 million) and Straight Outta Compton ($161 million).

Girls Trip reportedly had a budget of $28 million, giving it a North American profit of $72 million. Besides being financially successful, the movie is also “certified fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with an 88% rating.
