Young Dolph Portrays Record Labels as Slave Owners in New Video
Young Dolph released the visuals for his track “Slave Owners” where he compares record label executives to chattel slave owners of America’s past. Dolph evokes the imagery of and characters from the Quinten Tarantino film, Django Unchained. However, in Dolph’s video, he’s an unsigned rapper who is brought to the Liberty Land Records Plantation.
Dolph’s video comes at quite an interesting time in hip-hop and American popular culture at large considering the recent comments made by Kanye West regarding slavery.
