Deontay Wilder lands role in 50 Cent-produced crime drama
Deontay Wilder is adding another chapter to his post-title career — this time, on the big screen.
According to Yellowhammer News, the former WBC heavyweight champion has joined the cast of Moses the Black, an upcoming crime drama produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and set for release through Fathom Entertainment later this month. While specific details about Wilder’s role have not yet been revealed, the project places him alongside a cast that includes Quavo and Wiz Khalifa.
For Wilder, the move marks a continuation of a gradual but deliberate shift from boxing to acting. The Tuscaloosa native has previously appeared on television, including a guest spot on Magnum P.I. in 2018 and an appearance on Showtime’s Billions the following year. Moses the Black, however, marks his most prominent film role to date and his first time working on a feature-length project produced by 50 Cent, who has built a growing portfolio in scripted crime dramas.
Wilder’s acting news arrives after a return to the ring earlier this year. In June, he secured a win that snapped a difficult stretch and reaffirmed his presence in heavyweight boxing. Known worldwide as “The Bronze Bomber,” Wilder compiled a professional record of 44-4-1 across 49 fights, with 43 of his victories coming by knockout — a statistic that helped define one of the most feared punching reputations of his era.
Though boxing remains central to his identity, Wilder has increasingly shown interest in expanding beyond the sport. Film and television have provided a natural outlet, especially given his larger-than-life persona and physical presence. In past interviews, Wilder has expressed interest in exploring opportunities that allow him to grow creatively as his fighting days slow down.
