21 Savage recently urged Gunna and Young Thug to reconcile and move past street codes.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again isn’t buying into 21 Savage’s “Fuck the Streets” movement.
The 26-year-old rapper explained he wants no part of that framing while speaking to Jordan Rose for his Complex cover story.
“I don’t give a fuck about that,” he said bluntly. “I am the streets. I love the streets. I come from the streets. I ain’t on any of that pussy ass shit. It’s just stop the violence, same shit I’ve been on.”
YoungBoy continued, “I don’t know, I think people are kind of confused. It ain’t got nothing really to do with toting a gun, because I ain’t telling you not to tote your gun, but you ain’t got to have your gun and engage in bullshit. Have your shit because you love it and because you want to protect yourself.
“So that’s why I donate money to those type of things,” he added. “I actually do care. A lot of people just be like, I guess, confused. I be throwing out mixed signals probably.”
When Rose asked whether the “Fuck the Streets” idea felt like rejecting where artists came from, YoungBoy dismissed that discourse too.
“I don’t be paying attention to that shit,” he said. “It’s the narrative somebody pushing right now and I’m pushing my narrative.”
His comments come amid broader conversation sparked by 21 Savage, who in December 2025 publicly urged Young Thug and Gunna to repair their relationship.
“@gunna @youngthug Yall n****s fix that shit yall love each other,” Savage wrote on X at the time. “N***a you knew gunna wasn’t no gangster when he told the first time and we swept it under the rug for you you know he wasn’t tryna leave you to hang n***a fuck the streets we ain’t get shit but trauma from that shit.” Seen
