Details about what prompted the hospitalization have not been revealed, the report said.
Daz Dillinger, Kurupt’s longtime collaborator in Tha Dogg Pound, took to Instagram on Tuesday, asking fans to send messages of support to his hip-hop cohort.
“God said we shall live and not die,” Dillinger wrote. “Want to send a big shout out to my big brother @offical_kurupt. Get well, speedy recovery. We need all fans to send Kurupt a get-well message. Flood his Instagram, tell him how much we love him.”
Kurupt, whose legal name is Ricardo Emmanuel Brown, was born in Philadelphia and moved to Los Angeles as a teenager. He launched his music career in the early 1990s when he formed Tha Dogg Pound with Dillinger under Death Row Records.
Kurupt, who has worked with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, among many others, has previously faced serious health concerns. He was rushed to the hospital in 2019 in the wake of an alcohol relapse while filming on the set of the reality TV series “Marriage Boot Camp.”
