A person’s wedding day is meant to be one of the most memorable of his or her life; however, for one Arizona bride, it will be remembered for a very different reason than exchanging vows with her husband.
32-year-old Amber Young was on the way to her nuptials in the town of Marana when she allegedly caused a three-car crash. It appears that Ms. Young had a few drinks before getting behind the wheel, and when police arrived they quickly determined that she was intoxicated. While it’s certainly understandable to tip back a few to eliminate those pre-wedding jitters, Young clearly took it too far.
“A driver was arrested for DUI this AM while driving to her wedding. @MaranaPD officers arrived at OG/Thornydale at approx 1030 reference a three-vehicle collision. One person was transported with minor injuries. Don’t drive impaired, till death do we part doesn’t need any help,” tweeted Marana PD Sgt. Chriswell Scott on Monday.
A photo released by the Marana PD shows the bride – done up in her floor-length wedding dress – handcuffed and being placed into the back of a patrol car. Young was arrested and later released after submitting to a blood test.
According to police, the three-vehicle crash sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.
