(NewsnMusic) Swizz Beatz’ brother Andre King revealed that he was gay in last night’s (December 1) episode of “Growing Up Hip Hop.”
Season 2 of the reality series follows the lives of the relatives or children of rappers like Master P., Rev. Run and Jam Master Jay.
In addition to Swizz’ brother Andre, Angela Simmons, Lil Romeo and JMJ’s son T.J. Mizell are featured on the show.
In an interview with E! News, King discussed breaking the news on “Growing Up Hip Hop” in addition to explaining how he decided to come out of the closet to his family.
“I came to [my family] and I was just honest and I said, ‘You know what, I have something that’s been laying on me and I just really want to tell you guys something,’ and I just told them that I am gay and just identify as me. They were just really proud of me and happy and they all gave me so much love and just really said, you know, this is big. This is bigger than you doing your reality [show], this is your reality,” King said.
“Growing Up Hip Hop” airs each Thursday at 9:00
