18-year-old rapper Tay-K picked up a third-degree felony charge of possessing a prohibited item inside a correctional facility after trying to destroy a cell phone he had tucked in his underwear.
According to the Star-Telegram, Tay-K, real name Taymor McIntyre, tried to throw the phone in a toilet and he got into an altercation with a jailer on July 25. Tay-K is being moved to Lon Evans Corrections Center, Tarrant County’s maximum-security jail, after a previous altercation with an inmate. He is being held alone in a solitary cell for 23 hours a day and is allowed one hour of gym.
“The Race” rapper has been held without bond since June 2017 after he was accused of being involved in two separate murder cases and an assault case of a 65-year-old man that claims a 16-year-old Tay-K brutally beat and robbed him. A judge certified that he can stand trial as an adult on capital murder and aggravated robbery charges.
