(FreshAsFrankie) One of the fathers of Trap music is the subject of the latest episode of Red Bull Music’s docu-series The Note. The Frankfurt-born, Atlanta-based producer Xavier “Zaytoven” Dotson tells his story in the program.
The Note covers the hitmaker’s career course from performing in the church to becoming an architect of the dominant sound in modern rap music. Additionally, the 17-minute doc includes behind-the-scenes footage as well as interviews with Young Dolph, Cassius Jay, and Dotson’s parents.
Zay also discusses his longstanding relationship with “Trap God” Gucci Mane. He addresses the 2016 death of his friend Bankroll Fresh as well.
