Walmart to Stop Selling Handgun Ammunition

According to the AP, Walmart said they will discontinue selling handgun ammunition, are also asking that customers stop openly carrying firearms their stores, even in states that allow it.

The news surfaced days after a mass shooting went down in Texas a few days ago, along with another mass shooting that went down at a Walmart last month.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillion issued a memo on the matter, noting that Walmart will treat “law-abiding customers with respect” and they will have a “non-confrontational approach” to customers. He also said “In a complex situation lacking a simple solution, we are trying to take constructive steps to reduce the risk that events like these will happen again. The status quo is unacceptable.”
