(FreshAsFrankie) Despite avoiding a felony, the Texas native is now facing another charge one day later.
It appeared Joseph McVey (aka Z-Ro) was cleared in the felony assault case involving his former girlfriend Just Brittany Bullock. A grand jury declined to indict the Houston rapper, but a Harris County prosecutor is charging Z-Ro with assault on a family member.
The charge is a misdemeanor, but still, Z-RO faces up to a year in jail. His attorney stated, “I have to assume this is a result of the media grandstanding of [Brittany’s] California counsel and we will continue to vigorously defend him in criminal and civil court.”
Celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom is representing Bullock. Bloom tweeted yesterday, “Proud to stand by my client Just Brittany in her assault case against Z-Ro. Today’s hearing was continued, we fight on tomorrow in court.”
