Bounce Music DJ Black N Mild has passed at 44 From Coronavirus
New Orleans bounce music DJ Black N Mild has passed away at the age of 44 after testing positive for Coronavirus. The DJ—born Oliver Stokes Jr., passed away last Thursday. The DJ/Producer’s death was confirmed by the New Orleans Parish coroner’s office a day after his passing.
For those unaware, Black N Mild was one of the first DJs responsible for bringing bounce music to the radio, which was on Bounce 104.5. While living in Houston, Texas due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina, Black N Mild headlined a mix show for KHOU. Along with that, Stokes hosted the ‘Rhythm and Bounce’ show for WBOK, an AM station in New Orleans.
