According to The Blast, Da Brat has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after falling $7 million in debt. She reportedly has $108,700.65 in assets and her liabilities total $7,782,249.57.
Included in her liabilities is a $6.4 million judgment to former cheerleader Shayla Stevens, who Da Brat hit in the face with a bottle in a nightclub in 2000. In addition, Da Brat owes $1,255,128 to Sony Music and $12,000 to Ally Bank. She also listed $2,284 in credit card debt, $2,284 owed to the Georgia Department of Revenue, and an unknown amount to the IRS.
She has reportedly made $75,000 so far this year, $106,000 in 2017 and $92,000 in 2016. Her monthly expenses total $10,506.55, but she brings in $9,319, leaving her $1,187 in the negative every month.
