Mystikal’s Arraignment Postponed After He Showed Up to Court Without Lawyer

Mystikal's Arraignment Postponed After He Showed Up to Court Without Lawyer
(FreshAsFrankie) Previously, news broke that Mystikal was arrested for an alleged rape and kidnapping that took place in Shreveport, Louisiana at Sam’s Town Casino and Hotel.

According to reports, the incident took place October 22, 2016, and the rapper had accomplices in the alleged rape and kidnapping. One man named Averweone Holman, aka “Lil Hood,” was arrested, as well as a woman named Tenichia Wafford. The woman was charged in the case with obstructing justice. She allegedly called the victim in the case and tried to get her to drop her complaint against Mystikal and Lil Hood. Bail for Wafford was set at $500,000. Both men are facing charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. The bail for each of them was set at $3 million. A grand jury in Caddo Parish District court order indictments against three suspects in the case.

Since then, news surfaced saying Mystikal’s arraignment has been delayed because he currently has no lawyer. Initially, Mystikal secured lawyer Kenneth Beck, who was able to file motions for the rapper earlier in the beginning of the case. Now, Judge Ramona Emanuel granted the rapper more time to find a lawyer for his case. Because of that, his next court date will be on November 28, 2017.

According to the Shreveport Times, court documents in the case have been sealed.

Mystikal Indicted On 1st-Degree Rape, 2nd-Degree Kidnapping Charges. Bail Is Set At $3 Million

Mystikal Turns Himself in on Alleged Rape Charges
(FreshAsFrankie) A Caddo Parish, Louisiana Grand Jury has indicted Mystikal on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.

The indictment, which was handed down Tuesday, September 19, stems from an incident that allegedly took place at a Shreveport casino where the 46-year old rapper, born Michael Lawrence Tyler, performed in 2016.

KSLA reports that his bond has been set at $3 million.

The New Orleans native initially turned himself in on August 21. At the time a member of the Mystikal’s camp told TMZ that the accusation was false, and he planned on pleading not guilty.

Two other people were also indicted in connection with the crime.

26-year old Darnell Holman on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. His bond has been set at $3 million.

Tenichia Monieck Wafford, 42, on one count of obstruction of justice. Her bond is set at $500,000.

This is the second time Mystikal has been in trouble for a sexually-related crime.

In 2003 the “Danger (Been So Long)” hit maker pleaded guilty to sexual battery and extortion. He was sentenced to six years in prison.
