Judge Rules That Rapper Tay-K Will Be Tried as an Adult in Murder Case

(FreshAsFrankie) Texas-born rapper Tay-K was scheduled to appear in court today (August 31), but his date was postponed. Tay-K, born Tamor McIntyre, is facing capital murder charges, which carries a life imprisonment sentence or the death penalty.

Tay-K’s appearance was postponed due to lack of evidence. His lawyer, James McMillan, spoke earlier this week about Tay-K’s case. McMillan, who previously represented Kodak Black, sai: “The Race” rapper “has this dire situation on his back, but this opportunity on the other hand. I’m tasked with trying to make sure we maximize his opportunities so he can mount as strong of a criminal defense as possible.”

New York Times reporter Joe Coscarelli spoke to McMillan on Wednesday (August 30), and he was told that Tay-K would be tried as an adult in the case. The judge told Tay-K that the decision to move the case to adult court had no bearing of his guilt or innocence the case, and added that officers testified that there was no evidence that the rapper had weapons or engaged in any violent acts. McMillan went on to say that he believes Tay-K will be exonerated on all the charges.

Trae Tha Truth Helps Rescues Houston Residents As Flooding Continues

As Flooding Continues
(FreshAsFrankie) Rapper Trae Tha Truth is doing his part to help rescue people, as Hurricane Harvey continues to dump record amounts of rain on Houston.

Trae went on a boat ride with Fox 26 reporter Rashi Vats on a boat earlier today (August 29), to survey the flooding and the damage in Houston.

According to reports, first responders have conducted over 3,500 rescues since the massive flooding started yesterday.

According to The Houston Chronicle, Trae was forced to sleep in his truck, after he was forced to evacuate his home.

And even though his truck was soon submerged in water, Trae still took the time to try and help rescue other residents and bring them to safety.

“I don’t even know how we prepare for this because there’s water everywhere,” Trae said.

Over 17,000 people are currently in shelters, which are filling up fast and over 9,000 people are currently being housed in the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Mystikal Turns Himself in on Alleged Rape Charges

Mystikal Turns Himself in on Alleged Rape Charges
(FreshAsFrankie) Mystikal Turns Himself in on Alleged Rape Charges
This past weekend, rapper Mystikal was charged with first-degree rape. Because of that, a warrant was issued for his arrest. The Shreveport Police Department was on the hunt for Mystikal, along with a man named Averweone Holman, who cops believed was a part of the crime as well. U.S. Marshals ended up tracking down and arresting Holman in Texas this past Friday. Investigators on the scene noted that they collected evidence that matches the DNA of Mystikal, along with Holman.

Now, news has arrived that Mystikal has turned himself into the Caddo Parrish Sheriff’s Department in Louisiana. The warrant for the arrest allegedly comes from a 2016 incident at a Louisiana casino where Mystikal was supposedly set to perform. No more details beyond that have been provided, and according to Mystikal’s team, the charges and allegations are false. Currently, Mystikal’s bond is $2 million.
