Andre 3000: Big Boi is a Better Rapper Than Me

Andre 3000: Big Boi is a Better Rapper Than Me
(FreshAsFrankie) When some people name their top 5 rappers, they often include Andre 3000. He, however, believes his partner Big Boi is the better rapper of the two. The veteran artist and style icon has been keeping a low profile but he did an in-depth Q&A with GQ Style and discussed his career and more.

When speaking about being kids when they first came out, Andre said, “Yeah, running around the world. I can say, man, my partner, Big Boi, has always been on it. He’s sharp. He always knew the right decisions. He got into a real relationship really early. Right before our second album, he had a kid, and he and the girl stayed together, and they’re married now. I did the opposite. I’m all over the place. I never went on real dates. I don’t want to meet anybody’s parents. Like, I’m a f***ing rapper.”

Later in the interview, Andre spoke more about the difference between him and Big Boi, including graduating from high school. He also explained why he thinks Big Boi is the better all-around rapper between the two of them.

“Big Boi is smart as f***. We went to the same high school. I dropped out in 11th grade. Big Boi graduated with honors. When you watch early OutKast videos, Big Boi’s the leader. He always had the confidence, where I was kind of like the shy one. Big Boi can rap better than me—I always said that. If somebody said, ‘Pick who you want from OutKast to go to battle with you,’ it wouldn’t be me. ’Cause like, what I’ma do? Say some mind s***? You can’t have thoughts in a battle—nobody gives a s*** about that.”

Sad Day In America Trump Pardons Anti-Immigrant Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Trump Pardons Anti-Immigrant Sheriff Joe Arpaio
(FreshAsFrankie) I can’t believe how these damn republican are just doing what they choose with no repercutions. Former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio was excused from having to do prison time for criminal contempt on Friday, August 25. Arpaio received a Presidential pardon from Donald Trump that critics say he never consulted with the Department of Justice over.

Arpaio was found guilty of having disobeyed the 2011 orders of a judge who demanded that he discontinue the outlawed racial profiling tactics his office was using to bust down undocumented migrants. Many had suspected that Trump would bless Arpaio, who was a staunch supporter of his candidacy. Local politicians, including Phoenix’s mayor, had expressed worry that the President would cause a firestorm by choosing to pull the trigger during his rally in the city this past week. Trump didn’t go through with the move that very day, but he did hint that a pardon was coming down the pike.

A statement issued by the White House cited the 85-year-old Arpaio’s age and 50 years of service in law enforcement, and heralded his “life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration.” Arpaio would respond with a couple of tweet’s thanking the President, one of which read, “Thank you @realdonaldtrump for seeing my conviction for what it is: a political witch hunt by holdovers in the Obama justice department!”

Two White Girls Show Up to Howard University with MAGA Hats

(FreshAsFrankie) Two white high schoolers found themselves in a precarious situation when they had lunch at Howard University, one of the most revered HBCU‘s, with MAGA (Make America Great Again) hats on. One of the girls, Allie Vandee, took to Twitter to talk about her experience and claims of being harassed while in the university’s dining hall. According to Vandee, when she and her friend Sarah entered the dining hall they encountered one man who yelled “F*ck y’all” while another man supposedly stole Sarah’s cap before having it returned.

Vandee claims that she was unaware of being on an HBCU campus but her tweets with “#noshame” show a level of insensitivity and audaciousness during this current racial climate.

David Banner: Trump Showed the World that Post-Racial America Doesn't Exist

(FreshAsFrankie) David Banner, making an appearance on CNN, spoke about the climate of racial tension in the country following violent, racist demonstrations in Charlottesville this past weekend.

“I don’t understand why America acts so surprised. So for me, one thing that Trump was able to do was to show the world that the post-racial America that liberal white people were trying to talk about doesn’t exist,” Banner said.
