A man who is believed to be the half-brother of Al Sharpton was arrested and charged with capital murder.

Pastor Kenneth Glasgow, 52, of Dothan, Alabama, was arrested for allegedly being the driver in a fatal shooting on Sunday (March 25). Glasgow allegedly drove the car for Jamie Emmanuel Townes, 26, who is accused of shooting Breunia Jennings, 23, in the head.

Glasgow maintains that he was driving Townes to look for his car and doesn’t know anything about his motive to shoot Jennings. Townes reportedly believed that Jennings stole his car and took revenge by killing her.

Glasgow spoke about his connection to Sharpton, telling Mobile, Alabama‘s WKRG, “My name has always been Sharpton. We just used Glasgow when I was locked up for two (reasons). One, we didn’t want to taint the Sharpton name with my demise. And two, it was to protect me because we didn’t want someone who was a racist or bigot to kill me knowing I was Sharpton’s brother.”

An obituary for Sharpton’s mother, Ada Sharpton, revealed that she married a John Glasgow in 1938 and they had two children, a boy, Thomas Jefferson “Sonny” Glasgow, and a girl, Ernestine “Tina” Glasgow.
