MTV Plans To Pay Tribute To Aretha Franklin At The VMA’s

Aretha Franklin dies at 76
The MTV Video Music Awards are just days away, and since the recent death of the legendary Aretha Franklin, the show has decided to squeeze in a tribute to honor her legacy.

The Queen Of Soul died Thursday at her Detroit Home from pancreatic cancer at the age of 76.

The VMAs show executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic told The Associated Press yesterday that he and his team are “working on a lot of different options” to show tribute to Aretha.

Ignjatovic said he is searching for “the right tone and the right artist” who can give the proper tribute to Aretha Franklin.

“Whether it’s a performance or spoken — just something that’s organic and done in a way that feels right because it’s Aretha Franklin,” he says.

The VMAs will be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York and will air live on Monday.
