Nipsey Hussle Inks Partnership Deal With Atlantic Records

Nipsey Hussle Inks Partnership Deal With Atlantic Records

(FreshAsFrankie) Yesterday, it was announced that Nipsey Hussle signed a partnership with Atlantic Records. The multi-album deal will include his debut album Victory Lap. The partnership will also include his imprint All Money In.

“The decision really came down to the message I’m trying to get across. I wanted to give that message the best chance to be heard and consumed on the highest level. That was my goal from the jump as All Money In took time to build its position in the hip-hop lane,” Hussle told Billboard.

Atlantic executives call Hussle both a great MC, visionary, and entrepreneur. Previously, he left Epic Records in 2010, the same year he founded All Money In. The rapper is also an investor in the Marathon Agency, which also helps manages his career.

In other news, Hussle recently called it quits with his longtime partner Lauren London. The two have one child together.

Zaytoven - Where Would The Game Be Without Me 2
(FreshAsFrankie) Download Zaytoven‘s new 11-song mixtape “Where Would The Game Be Without Me 2,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, & more.

It’s safe to say Zaytoven has been one of the main masterminds behind trap music’s meteoric rise & dominance in the rap game over the recent years, especially in Atlanta. From his early collaborations with Gucci Mane& producing the Migos breakout single to influencing a whole slew of producers who follow his template and sound, Zaytoven has been a driving force behind ATL’s trap scene domination.

Last month, Zaytoven announced he linked a partnership deal with Motown Records, where his debut album Trap Holizay will be released under, but before we’re treated to that later this year, the ATL super producer had decided to come through today and release the sequel to last year’s Where Would The Game Be Without Me mixtape first.

Laced with 11 songs in total, the DJ Dramahosted project features a mix of exclusive and previously-released tracks from the likes of Yo Gotti, Quavo, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Future, Ty Dolla Sign, and more. Meanwhile production is handled entirely by Zaytoven himself of course.

Some of the new songs that fans will be hearing for the first time are Lil Uzi Vert’s “A Lot,” Lil Yachty’s “Art Show,” Ty Dolla Sign’s “R&B,” and Yo Gotti’s “Gas Stove,” while previously-released songs like Quavo’s “Stars in the Ceiling,” Future’s “Feds Did a Sweep,” and Big Bank’s “Don’t Worry” also appear on the project as well.

“This mixtape is the formula of classic mixed wit new wave. TrapHoliZay on the way!!” Zaytoven said about the tape.

Stream and/or download the new compilation project right now for free and let us know what record you’re feeling the most? Look for his Trap Holizay album to still be on the way, and dropping later this year under Motown Records. So stay tuned.

Andre 3000: Big Boi is a Better Rapper Than Me

Andre 3000: Big Boi is a Better Rapper Than Me
(FreshAsFrankie) When some people name their top 5 rappers, they often include Andre 3000. He, however, believes his partner Big Boi is the better rapper of the two. The veteran artist and style icon has been keeping a low profile but he did an in-depth Q&A with GQ Style and discussed his career and more.

When speaking about being kids when they first came out, Andre said, “Yeah, running around the world. I can say, man, my partner, Big Boi, has always been on it. He’s sharp. He always knew the right decisions. He got into a real relationship really early. Right before our second album, he had a kid, and he and the girl stayed together, and they’re married now. I did the opposite. I’m all over the place. I never went on real dates. I don’t want to meet anybody’s parents. Like, I’m a f***ing rapper.”

Later in the interview, Andre spoke more about the difference between him and Big Boi, including graduating from high school. He also explained why he thinks Big Boi is the better all-around rapper between the two of them.

“Big Boi is smart as f***. We went to the same high school. I dropped out in 11th grade. Big Boi graduated with honors. When you watch early OutKast videos, Big Boi’s the leader. He always had the confidence, where I was kind of like the shy one. Big Boi can rap better than me—I always said that. If somebody said, ‘Pick who you want from OutKast to go to battle with you,’ it wouldn’t be me. ’Cause like, what I’ma do? Say some mind s***? You can’t have thoughts in a battle—nobody gives a s*** about that.”
