(FreshAsFrankie) Lil Durk‘s steady stream of new music continues. On Thursday (Oct. 19), just a little over two months removed from dropping his Super VulturesEP with Lil Reese, the Chicago native returns with Signed to the Streets 2.5. It’s a sequel to his 2014 effort, Signed to the Streets.
A couple of weeks ago, Durk premiered “Make It Out,” which is the third track on his new project. The song features a healthy dose of Auto-tune as he half-sings about depression, the streets and using drugs to cope.
“Looking for inspiration, pray for my generation/Fuck Trump them bitches racist, bought ‘Raris just to race em’,” he spits in the song. At the time he dropped that track, he indicated that Signed to the Streets 3 was coming soon. Maybe that’s true, but for now, we’ve got Signed to the Streets 2.5, which will definitely do.
Check out Signed to the Streets 2.5 for yourself below.

(FreshAsFrankie) A number of notable acts have bubbled out of Brooklyn over the past several years, including Joey Badass, Troy Ave, Desiigner and Young MA to name a few, who’ve exhibited an array of styles representative of the borough’s musical diversity. Many fans will say that the streets haven’t truly gotten behind a movement from the birthplace of Biggie Smalls since Bobby Shmurda and his GS9 crew were bringing the gritty sounds and raw visuals reflective of their free and rebellious youth. That is until now.
Over the past several weeks the hardcore intensity of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s vocals, coupled with the infectious hook off of his single “Gummo” has begun to recapture that 2013-2014 energy. And radio is taking notice.
Tekashi recently set up a live stream for his fans, during which he notified followers that Hot 97 was about to play the song for the first time. As Funk Flex ran the record back repeatedly it appeared that he was floating between two worlds, with his feet firmly planted on the block and his mind in the clouds as the possibilities came to surface in the surreal moment. Then came Flex’s bombs, and the legendary DJ name-dropping the hot young rapper while shouting one time for Brooklyn.
“To be honest with you, I don’t even know how to feel. Like, n****s playing me on the radio. Like… I know some n****s be paying for that s**t, some n****s be just paying the DJ and s**t but I never thought I was gonna have a hot record to actually spin on the radio,” said 6ix9ine. “You know what I’m saying? That s**t just bugged out to me because I don’t make radio music. I don’t make club music, so that s**t real crazy.”
The visual for “Gummo” certifies the song with the kind of life that’s going to continue to generate from the Blood rapper’s Scum Gang clique when they officially roll out the video for Tekashi’s next single, “Kooda.” Snippets from the “Kooda” video have been floating around the net and show Bloods and Crips flooding the Utica Avenue and Fulton Street stop along the A/C subway line, together.
The degree to which they are evidently united in the visual serves as a glaring sign of the potential Tekashi bears to call rap music’s attention back to the city at a street level. At one point during the video’s teaser, an affiliate of the rapper’s entourage lifts up his shirt to reveal a graphic of Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel. All of the dots seem to be connecting for a similar kind of Brooklyn resurgence.
(FreshAsFrankie) Lil Mouse was reportedly shot yesterday evening in Chicago. According to Chicago-basedHip Hop blog Fake Shore Drive, the rapper’s publicist Victor Foh Jr. stated that Mouse was shot in the leg around 6pm on October 29th on the South Side of Chicago. Reportedly, Mouse is expected to make a full recovery.
Earlier this month, Lil Mouse dropped “In Luv Wit It” music video. He was also recently spotted with NBA Youngboy and Young Thug on Instagram.
At this time, there are no further details on the incident.
(FreshAsFrankie) According to the Chicago Tribune, 33 people have been wounded, with six of them dying over the weekend in the Windy City. Police noted that the shootings happened in 13 hours, starting on Saturday and going into Sunday morning.
In one instance the Tribune pointed out, one man was killed while six others were wounded from gunfire that broke out around 2:30 A.M. on Sunday. All of the people hurt were standing in the parking lot of a banquet hall that serves as a nightclub when an unidentified man in a black SUV fired off shots at the group of people. The man drove off right after his attack. A 40-year-old man on the scene was hit by the SUV of the shooter, resulting in him having to be taken to the hospital for a broken ankle.
The violence in Chicago keeps drawing attention nationwide, with Donald Trump chiming in and offering “solutions” the city’s homicide rate. In 2016, Chicago had 760 homicides, which is more than L.A. and New York combined according to NY Daily News.
(FreshAsFrankie) A little more than a month after it was alleged R. Kelly is keeping women in a cult in two of his homes, here comes another upsetting allegation— another woman claims she and R. Kelly continued to have sex after she told him she was underage.
24-year-old Jerhonda Pace (which is her married name) told Buzzfeed she met Kelly when she was 15-year-old Jerhonda Johnson and started sleeping with him the next year. Pace claims the singer gave her an undisclosed sum of money in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement.
Unfortunately, these types of allegations against R. Kelly are nothing new. Here’s the kicker– the two met when Pace was a fan and attended his 2008 child pornography trial. That’s where one of The Pied Piper‘s employees friended her on MySpace and invited her to a party at his mansion. Pace initially lied about her age, telling him she was 19. Recalling her encounters, Pace said he used to make her call him “daddy” and he would call her “baby.” Pace also stated she had to “have two pigtails and make her wear little school girl outfits.” She alleged their encounters were filmed without her permission. Pace also stated Kelly was abusive in other ways, choking, slapping and spitting on her.
In July 2009, Pace says she told R. Kelly, she was really 16, and he said it was ok. The age of consent in Illinois is 17. He instructed her to “act 25” and if anyone else asked about her age, tell them she was 19.
Pace says she has decided to come forward now out of concern for other women who might still be abused by the R&B crooner.
(FreshAsFrankie) Moneybagg Yo’s name has been in a lot of headlines over the last few days. The Memphisrapper was reportedly questioned by police in connection with a shooting at a New Jersey rest stop on August 19.
Federal 3X was predicted to only collect between 15,000 and 20,000 units. YoungBoy Never Broke Again also appears on the tape.
“I keep growing my fan base. My last project Heartless sold more mixtapes than some big artists on major label albums. So right now, I’m just focus on giving my fans more mixtapes,” Moneybagg told Billboard earlier this month.
(FreshAsFrankie) Did The Game Smash A 15-year Old Girl? The Internets Are Doing A Lot Of “Reporting” And Talking! Game is one of the best of this newer modern day era and his last album is dope. However, the California titan has an issue and it seems to have big legs…and they are going far. The rapper stands accused of possibly screwing a 15-year-old girl. Now, all if this is speculation at the moment, but the gossip sites and social media outlets are running rampant.
And it did not take very long for The Game’s adversary 40Glocc to jump into the fray.
This could be very, very messy very very soon. The Game has been accused of these sort of things in the past. Hopefully, it ends up being lies or something. We don’t need and R. Kelly in Hip-Hop even though there are probably quite a few already.
Meanwhile, The Game has been on a social media “fast” since earlier this month. Seems like he may not even know what is going on.
