This past weekend, rapper Mystikal was charged with first-degree rape. Because of that, a warrant was issued for his arrest. The Shreveport Police Department was on the hunt for Mystikal, along with a man named Averweone Holman, who cops believed was a part of the crime as well. U.S. Marshals ended up tracking down and arresting Holman in Texas this past Friday. Investigators on the scene noted that they collected evidence that matches the DNA of Mystikal, along with Holman.
Now, news has arrived that Mystikal has turned himself into the Caddo Parrish Sheriff’s Department in Louisiana. The warrant for the arrest allegedly comes from a 2016 incident at a Louisiana casino where Mystikal was supposedly set to perform. No more details beyond that have been provided, and according to Mystikal’s team, the charges and allegations are false. Currently, Mystikal’s bond is $2 million.

UPDATE: Mystikal is now accused of rape. Police obtained warrants for the 46-year-old rapper and 26-year-old Averweone Holman. They are charged with one count each of First Degree Rape. Bond was set at $2 million each.
While police spokesperson Cpl. Angie Willhite refused to elaborate, KSLA reports that the incident stems from the rapper’s stop in Shreveport on the Legends of Hip-Hop” tour.
While the nature of the charges are not known, Mystikal is no stranger to the law.
In 2003, Mystikal’s rising career was interrupted, when he was sentenced to six years in prison for sexual battery and extortion after he forced a female employee to tape herself engaged in sex acts.
According to reports, the alleged rape occurred because the victim accepted checks against the rapper’s bank account even though she knew he didn’t authorize them.
The extortion charges stem from Mystikal allegedly soliciting the woman for sex, under the condition that he wouldn’t turn her into the police for her crime.
The rapper also served two months in jail for violating his probation, after he was arrested for domestic abuse in February of 2010.
